Kiss Me, My Deja Vu

(Sorry the title isn't spelled properly, but DevArt doesn't allow any 'special character' in their titles. Blah.)

Here's the Sketch version.

My OC's, Blade and Marijke, kissing in a swiming-pool at night. The advantage to having your own umbreon is that a romantic atmosphere is garanteed so long as there is moonlight (although, I say that the amount of moonlight affects just how much he glows - and only when it's hitting him directly, unless it's a full moon, then he lights up like a roman candle regardless). ...And if you turn him on just right, it can be even sparklier.
(I blame the overdone glitteriness of the image on him, yes!)

Well, as you can see, I went ahead and coloured it, afterall - and got totally carried away with adding dots! I honestly don't know WHY I feel the need to add sparkles everytime I draw Blade's glowies glowing, but I do.

Oh, and Zebeckras was right - fixing the perspective 'issues' was really easy - presuming it really is fixed and I'm not just blinded by glitter.

Yes, I should actually have made his nails shiny and added shadows or highlights to her eye makeup. And I should probably fix her hair... the problem is that I have NO idea if my monitor really is properly calibrated, so I'm afraid to "experiment too much" when it comes to these types of things. Either way, her hair is actually supposed to be black... whilst here, it looks grey to me - erm, and blue, because I laid that down with the flats temporarily - because I wasn't sure HOW I was going to handle colouring/shading/highlighting it - and then totally forgot about it when actually colouring it in properly.

So, two things I will be fixing, most likely, is the blue in her hair; <strikeout>and making his glowies actually give off a glow as I did in the other moonlight couple image of the two that's fully coloured</strikeout> - changed my mind.

EDIT: Just updated this: Fixed her hair (all of it, not just the blue) and the overall contrast of the image, as well as... some special effects (the overlay of moonlight that falls upon them). Sometimes, merely tweaking the contrast of an image, without touching "brightness", can make a big difference and can, if done right, just hit you. Thank you to JessKat for sharing that trick when she learned it (I'd only ever used it for black and white images and sketches - but never with coloured images without upping the brightness at the same time, as I had always used that to "sharpen" whatever image I was applying it to).

I'm now toying with whether or not to darken their lips a bit - since both are supposed to have black lips (technically their skin - like dogs have - but if they didn't have naturally black-coloured lips, both would then wear black lipstick).

And I forgot his scars (should be able to see a few, at least - including the end of the one across his chest - because it ends on his shoulder), but I do not care.

Last thing: No, I never have decided on a static colour of eye-shadow for Marij. I've also never even decided if the fur there is white, like the rest of her, or actually grey/darker - I've only decided that she almost always puts on makeup.

However, her gothic eye-markings are tattoos (cosmetic tattoos? I dunno, either way, they are permanant); whilst his eye-liner is makeup - though waterproof (although, as they are supposed to be in chlorinated water - a pool or jacuzzi - I have no idea if his makeup should actually be holding out or not).

Of course, that all doesn't matter, if the image is moving anyway, right? And achieves what I wanted it to: Emotion/romance/in-pool kiss at night. ...Right?
